Today I picked up 4 Peggy 2 boards on Craigslist! I didn’t even know about these a week ago and now I have 4 of em sitting on my desk. I don’t know what I’ll end up using them for yet but they may help me figure out some good software tricks for LED animations.
The previous owners used these in a few art projects and these boards were the first time they had really touched electronics before. That means I’ve had to do some work to clean up some of the errors on the boards. A few of the led’s are in backwards and one of the boards has all of it’s led’s on the “top” of the board while the others have the led’s on the “bottom”. This means one board is mirrored. But we can fix that in software. The boards have UV led’s on them and together they are ULTRA fucking bright! I turned up the brightness on all of the panels (the previous owner seemed to have missed that feature) and I am glad I have a desk to put them on so I don’t have to stare directly into the led’s.
I also got a fifth board that has been partially assembled. Hopefully I can get that board working as well someday…
but maybe it won’t be UV…
On the way home…:

Set up and running!:
